Go there now! Family tradition...Great time for a chocolate shake...some french fries and a double cheese burger...a chili dog...or a pizza burger! Go for it.

PLEASE STOP HERE ONLY IF IT IS FOR A SINGLE ITEM YOU WON'T REGRET IT! This drive-in is located right on the main road. Very inexpensive with good quality cooking. I would move to McCook just so I could enjoy this neat little drive-in all year round. I think in my visits I have been the most pleased with the home cooking feel of the food. I sampled the chicken sandwich, mushrooms and jello. I felt like I was eating my grandma's food. Everything is so full of flavor. Each item is made to order, the place is clean, and staff is friendly. The older style of ordering and decor is nice to experience in our fast pace modern times. I will always stop here to grab a bit to eat no matter if I'm in a rush or meeting family.

This throwback diner revives the era of the 60's diner. You order with a phone at your table, then pick up your order at the window. My burger and rings was excellent. The place was spotlessly clean and neat as a pin.

This is THE place to eat if you find yourself in little McCook, Nebraska. It's just greasy burgers and o-rings, but it's a McCook establishment! Besides the delicious o-rings and fried mushrooms, the burger was thick AND you order by phone at your table. The menu is on the wall. The decor is pretty old but I'm guessing locals aren't too eager to see much of a change to it. I bet it's been that way forever. It adds to the charm. Oddity? To get to the restroom, you have to step out of the main door and it's across the hall of the entry. Make sense? Get yourself some!

Do not ever miss an opportunity to eat at Mac's in McCook. Everything is local and homemade. The fries are crispy, thin and fresh. The hamburgers are juicy and made to order. I love their chicken strips and a side of their homemade onion rings. You pick up the phone at your table and order over the phone. When the red buzzer goes off at your table you pick up your order at the counter. They have great homemade pies in season. Their malts and shakes are classic. The prices are reasonable, I always have to look twice at the menu because I can't believe the prices. You can also order from your car and a car hop will deliver your order to your window. The staff is always friendly. It's a slice of Americana!

Delicious fries and onion rings! Hamburgers were good, but pretty unsubstantial. They are run of the mill diner burgers. Quick service, very clean, and fun nostalgic decor. Prices were VERY reasonable. I'm not sure why one reviewer said it was expensive. Our meal (2 deluxe cheeseburgers, fries and onion rings) only came to $12!

Stopped by Macs after a football game with family and friends. After all of the fantastic reviews, we were a little sad the ice cream machine was broken, but such is life. The refurbished drive in (which is quite nice) served great burgers, chicken, fries (and a lot of other stuff!) and it all tasted good. Since we were there late, they had coffee made for us all too. The people working there were all friendly and attentive.

Quaint, amusing, different -- all good words to describe Mac's. Definitely a bite of Americana. It's how I imagine fast food was before it became dominated by chains. Good burgers, really good french fries.

Now live in Texas and visit the area once or twice a year to see family. Food is good but way over price. Almost outrageous. But if there is one must get, it's the mushrooms. My wife and I will come here just or an order of those when we're in town.

Where else can you sit in a booth next to a fireplace, and order your food via telephone connected to a menu? Mac's is a McCook classic and I'll weep the day they stop serving food.
